We invite passionate learners and conservationists to apply for the Raptor Research and Survey Technique Training Program, a four-day intensive field-based training to be held in Central Campus of Technology (CCT), Dharan, Nepal.
This program aims to strengthen the capacity of early-career researchers, students, and wildlife practitioners in the scientific study and conservation of birds of prey. Participants will gain hands-on experience in raptor identification, survey methods, and ecological research (theoretical and practical classes).
Program Highlights:
- Field identification of diurnal and nocturnal raptors
- Raptors research design and data handling
- Standard survey and monitoring techniques
- Morphometric and habitat data collection
- Capture, handling, tagging and nest camera methods
- Raptor ecology (Population, movement and migration, breeding, habitat)
- Threat assessments (electrocution, collisions, poisoning and persecution)
- Raptor pathology
- Modern sciences and conservations (stable isotopes, genetics and eDNA)
- Raptor rescue
- Ethical considerations

Undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, birdwatchers, and conservation professionals interested in raptor ecology and field research.

Registration Fee:
Students: NPR 3,000/-
Professionals: NPR 5000/-
Registration fee covers lunch, tea and snacks. Basic accommodation can be arranged for eligible participants upon request.
